Yes, at all times VR Gammon requires an internet connection for telemetry and evaluations.
What is the alpha for?
Alpha is for validating the core mechanics of VR Gammon.
What does the alpha include?
Alpha includes regular move advice, regular cube advice, three difficulty options with Normal recommended for most players, and two play modes: regular play and match play.
Do I need to be an advanced backgammon player to start?
No. Alpha is designed for both newer and experienced players. You can choose a difficulty level that fits your current strength, with Normal recommended for most players.
When online multiplayer?
If there are enough concurrent users to support live multiplayer, adding it will be seriously evaluated. Until then, VR Gammon is focused on single-player training, with optional stat sharing through leaderboards.
How do I get access to the beta?

Will VR Gammon launch beyond Apple Vision Pro?
The current release focus is Apple Vision Pro. Cross-platform expansion is being evaluated based on usage and feedback.
